Too many people look at the Ten Commandments as God setting up a "GOT YOU" moment when we do something wrong in life. Is that where you are? Is that how you were raised to believe? Perhaps you think they are simply 'Old Testament' stuff that doesn't even apply to my life in today's modern world. Wherever you are in your view of the Ten Commandments, I invite you to join me to explore them as God's Words of Life - meant to help us live life to the full, enjoying all He has created in this world for us.
Think of it this way: when you establish rules for your children, whom you dearly love, do you set up rules to prepare punishment for them when they break those rules? Or, do you establish rules that you believe will help them have the best possible life?
